For everyone losing a candw.ky address

Your candw.ky email is going away. Here's how to keep a Cayman email — for good.

Sending from candw.ky stopped on 31 August, and candw.ky addresses stop receiving mail on 15 September 2026. inbox.ky gives you a permanent name@inbox.ky address you actually own, run right here in Cayman, that no telco can switch off — and we'll bring your old mail across free.

The candw.ky shutdown timeline

candw.ky mailboxes belong to the old Cable & Wireless / Flow email platform, and the closure is now happening on a timetable approved by the regulator (URCO). Here's where things stand:

  • 31 August 2026 — sending switched off. You can no longer send email from a candw.ky address. This has already happened.
  • 15 September 2026 — receiving switches off. candw.ky addresses stop receiving new mail. Anything sent to you after this simply won't arrive.
  • From then until 31 December 2026 at the earliest — read-only. You keep access to view and download your existing mail, but the address no longer works.

Dates are per URCO's amended direction to Flow and can shift if Flow's notification obligations aren't met. The important part is the order: sending is already gone, and receiving is next. If your candw.ky address is where your bank, your government notices, your subscriptions or your friends reach you, now is the time to move — while you can still tell people your new address.

  • It's private. We never read or scan your mail, and never sell your details. No ads in your inbox, ever — you pay a fair price, so we answer to you.

Straight answers

candw.ky email — your questions, answered

Is candw.ky email really shutting down — and when?

Yes, on a timetable approved by the regulator (URCO). Sending from candw.ky addresses was switched off on 31 August 2026, and candw.ky addresses stop receiving new mail on 15 September 2026. After that you keep read-only access to view and download old mail until at least 31 December 2026, but the address no longer works. These dates can shift if Flow does not meet its notification obligations.

What happens to my candw.ky email when it stops working?

New messages sent to your candw.ky address may bounce or simply never arrive, and you lose access to the mailbox. Anything tied to that address — logins, banks, subscriptions, contacts who have it saved — needs to be pointed at a new email. That is why switching early, while your old address still works, matters.

What is the best replacement for a candw.ky email in Cayman?

inbox.ky gives you a permanent name@inbox.ky address — a real Cayman email, owned and run right here on island, that no phone company can switch off. You keep it for good, and it is never mined or sold.

Can I bring my old candw.ky emails across?

Yes. On our Mailbox and Cayman Pro plans we move your existing mail over for free, so nothing is lost. You do not have to be technical — we do the heavy lifting for you.
